Happy birthday!

Hello dear readers!
Today I'd like to share with you some оf my ideas of studing Birthday vocabulary.The students are 6-9-year- old kids,but I'm sure this way of studying new words is excellent for everyone.

First of all, we learn vocabuary with the flashcards:

 

We can organize various activities with these cards.This is how I use them :

1.show a picture and name it,ask pupils to repeat after me some times( all together,only boys,only girls, the first team, the second team, all together)

2. Game What is missing.Ask students to close their eyes ( I usually say Sleep!), take one card from a board ,say Wake up!and ask them to guess which card is missing

3.Ask students to name the pictures.

4.Memory game. Turn the cards  backside to pupils one by one and ask them to name the cards.

5. Miming!:-) This kind of activity children like most of all.Be careful! All  children in a group must take part in it. If the group is too big,you can devide the pupils into teams and continue the work after the finishing another activity.(For example, after copying the words into the vocabulary).

Now, when the children know the words of the topic,it's right time for learning this poem:

Ice cream and birthday cake,

Toys and balloons,

Presens and surprises,

Fun things to do,

It's time to say

Happy birthday to you!

After this we sing  active songs. It may be If you are happy! or Hockey cockey or any other song your kids like!
